How to Stay Green When Gift Giving

1: Choose organic clothing items. If you want to give clothes as a gift, look for items that come from organic and all natural materials. You can buy organic clothing for men, women and kids.

2: Buy gifts locally. When you shop at local stores, you're using less gas while also supporting the local economy. Consider looking for gifts at antique stores, consignment shops, farmers' markets and craft fairs.

3: Go green for the kids. You should pick gifts that encourage kids to think about their environment. Look for nature themed books and activities. You can also buy the Eco-Friendly Birdhouse Kit from Edu-Kitting Kids.

4: Donate to a charity on their behalf. You can also discuss forgoing traditional gifts and donating to a worthy charity. Consider a farm sanctuary or having a tree planted in the person's name.

5: Make your gifts. Homemade items crafted from recycled materials will touch your recipient. Consider making your own jewelry, toys, knick knacks and more for the recipient.

6: Avoid novelty and build on something your child already loves - additional pieces or an add-on for building toys, a coveted addition to a train set or doll's house, craft supplies for the creative child.

7: Give your time - our parents loved to get "coupons" for jobs or things we could do for them; use this same idea to give more of yourself to your child (make a date for the holidays or the new year).

8: Give something they need anyway - pajamas, an item for their bedroom or swimming lessons, and make the presentation special.

9: Share memories - with digital photography many of us aren't very good at printing family photos these days. Use this time of the year to prepare mini photo albums for your child(ren) with highlights from the past year (or a special trip or occasion) and delight in re-living those memories together.

10: Re-gift! - Re-gifting is the idea of taking a gift that you once received but now would like to pass along for someone else to enjoy. This is an excellent way to give new life to that interesting gift from a colleague or friend that didn't quite match your decor or a special toy that your children have outgrown.

Hard to believe it is mid-October already. Seems like just yesterday we were sending the kids off to school! We are gearing up for a busy holiday season at The Baby Bin Boutique. We are now again accepting sizes 4-14 in fall/winter clothing, outerwear and accessories, so if you've been waiting, now's the time to get your items in for the holiday selling season.

We also have 2 exciting Mom's Night Out events planned for this fall. Wednesday October 22nd from 7-9 pm, come and join Jenn and the Baby Bin Boutique staff for an evening of exciting new products, baby wearing demonstrations, refreshments, and instore specials!

AND.....Join us next month for a Passion Party! What a great way to spend an evening with your mommy friends! You’ll giggle, you’ll learn and best of all – your Passion consultant shows you and your friends all the ways to spice up your love life. Join us Wednesday November 19th @ 7pm. Until now there really hasn't been a great selection of retail shops specializing in our BIG KID's fashion needs. We hope to alleviate the hours and mileage you spend trying to find the cutest, hippest, funkiest fashions for your size 7-14!
Our standards and selection are second to none, and we pledge to continue this into these sizes, BUT we need YOUR HELP and SUPPORT NOW!

Now is the time to sort through your best brand name and designer label clothing and get them in to the Baby Bin Boutique!
What are we currently accepting? Sizes 6 through 14 fall and winter clothing including:
-Outerwear including snowsuits, jackets, snowpants, vest, winter boots, hats, scarfs, and mitts!
-Long sleeve shirts, blouses, vests, sweaters, hoodies, fleece, corduroy, denim pants, jeans and overalls.
-Holiday wear including dresses, sleepwear, shoes, slippers, and all of the matching accessories!

Some examples of the popular brands/labels will we accept:
Gymboree, Gap, Mexx, Roots, H&M, The Children's Place .
We do not accept major department store brands from Walmart and Zellers as you can purchase these lines inexpensively enough any time of the year.

Ahhh…the crisp mornings are back already. While I am very sad to see lazy summer days go, fall is such a beautiful season with so many rich colors. The leaves are actually thinking about changing and we are back into longer sleeves/pants in the morning and late evening. Before we know it, it will be time to dig out fleece and wool, and our bathing suits and shorts will become a distant memory.
Things at the BBB have been ‘hoppin! We have been working very hard to roll out our new "BIG KIDS" department which offers clothing up to size 14!! You asked for it and we listened!
We are also very excited about all the new product on the way - just in time for the holiday gift-giving season!!
